Hong Bang International University (HIU) is a multidisciplinary institution comprising 10 faculties and 1 Institute of Education Science and Teacher Training, offering 49 academic programs in key, high-demand fields. Among these, the Health Sciences Division stands out as the university’s strategic focus, supported by major investments in infrastructure and a distinguished teaching faculty made up of leading professors and medical experts. The School of Health Sciences includes 7 faculties: Medicine, Odonto–Stomatology, Nursing, Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, Medical Laboratory, Pharmacy, and Midwifery.

Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine provides undergraduate and postgraduate training, scientific research opportunities, and technology transfer. Its lecturers include professors and PhDs trained abroad or with extensive experience in international academic environments. Notable faculty members include:

  • Dr. Nguyen Thanh Duc, M.D., Ph.D. – Former Deputy Director of Hospital 175, currently Head of Medicine

  • Dr. Mai Van Thin – A veteran educator with 40 years of teaching experience in anatomy and surgical practice

  • Dr. Vu Gia Phong – Graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, the No. 1 public university in the world (U.S. News ranking), and a student of Nobel Prize-winning professors

Modern Campus & Health Complex Development

To enhance clinical training and improve hands-on learning for Health Sciences students, HIU is renovating and expanding Campus II at 120 Hoa Binh Street, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City into a comprehensive Health Training and Care Complex. The upgraded campus will include:

  • HIU Hospital

  • HIU Sulyna Hotel

  • HIU Training Center – HIU University

With the establishment of HIU Hospital, Campus II is expected to become one of Vietnam’s most advanced hubs for medical education, research, and clinical practice—setting new standards in medical ethics and the application of cutting-edge scientific advancements.

Strong Industry Partnerships & 100% Job Commitment

HIU ensures high employability for its graduates by cultivating strong partnerships with local and international healthcare institutions. Students gain early exposure to real clinical environments through internships, practical training, and mentorship from leading physicians and nurses.

HIU’s key hospital partners include:
Tu Du Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, 30-4 Hospital, Thong Nhat Hospital, Children's Hospital, An Binh Hospital, Vinmec, and Victoria International Clinic. These partnerships allow students to engage in clinical practice from their first year of study.

In 2020, HIU reinforced its industry collaboration by signing a major training and development agreement with Hoan My Medical Group, giving Health Sciences students further access to hands-on practice across its hospital network.

Program Expansion in Health Sciences

For the academic year 2021–2022, HIU planned to expand its Health Sciences offerings with 8 new high-demand majors, including:

  • Medical Imaging Technology

  • Dental Health

  • Nutrition

  • Child Care

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Hospital Management

With these additions, the university’s Health Sciences portfolio now includes 16 specialized majors, making HIU one of the strongest private institutions for health-related education in Vietnam.
